Things to do in Tagaytay on a Weekend.

Tagaytay City

Tagaytay is among the top tourist destination in the Philippines due to its crisp cool weather, iconic view of Taal Lake, charming nature parks, gastonomic delights, and breathtaking adventures. If you’re looking for a perfect weekend getaway, I will recommend Tagaytay.

We had a quick visit in Tagaytay last weekend which was more than an hour drive from our place, Bacoor Cavite (we left the house at around 9AM). We attended a Sunday Mass at Our Lady Lourdes Parish. (We missed the 10 AM mass since we arrived during the homily so, we waited for the next scheduled mass at 11:30)

OUR LADY OF LOURDES PARISH

Aside from the top tourist attractions mentioned above, Tagaytay is also haven for pilgrims and mass goers.

There’s healing mass scheduled every Saturday at 6:30 AM, 12:00 NN and 5:30 PM.

While waiting for the next scheduled mass, we bought some of our favorite puto bumbong and kakanin outside the church.

Puto bumbong is a type of Filipino purple rice cake which is prepared by steaming ground purple rice mixture inside a bamboo tube. This is known to be available only during Christmas season but here, it is being sold all year round. Price: P30 each if you opted to top it with white sugar, or P 40 if you want muscovado sugar.

Delicious assorted kakanin (rice cakes) 3 pieces for P 100.

Mcdonalds Tagaytay

We had a quick bite at Mcdonalds for lunch. This branch of McDonalds is the best and the most beautiful in Cavite simply because it has a vantage point of Taal lake.

A nice backdrop for FB feed. “Free admission to those who dream… ” Let me add this quotation.

“All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them – Walt Disney

Stunning view of Taal Lake at McCafe. This area is always full of customers considering the scenic view of the lake.

McCafe is located at the upper level and is a separate store from the regular Mcdo fast food. It serves frappes, iced coffee, teas, chocolates, pastries and cakes.

We headed immediately to Tagaytay Highlands right after we had lunch.

TAGAYTAY HIGHLANDS

Tagaytay Highlands is a luxury community where you will find the best leisures and activities in one place. Surrounded by lush greens (mostly pine trees) with the view of Taal lake, this is definitely the most scenic and gorgeous place in Tagaytay.

Starbucks

We tried to dine at Starbucks in Tagaytay but were not able to proceed because of the long line in the counter and we could not find a seat for us three.

Breathtaking view of the Taal Lake is the reason why this branch is a hit.

This probably is the best branch of Starbucks in Tagaytay in terms of location.

Address: Purok 162 Tagaytay-Calamba Rd., Tolentino West, Tagaytay City Cavite.

The Banquet

We ended up in The Banquet for a dinner since it was already 6 PM. The restaurant serve satisfying Filipino dishes. Prices ranges from 800 to 1000 pesos for three persons.

Of course, we bought some Tagaytay’s specialty (buko pie and tart) at Amira’s pasalubong available inside the Banquet.

Our Tagaytay weekend getaway ended here.

God bless!
